Puerto - Portugal - Vinyl

$24.95

Puerto is the sound of the Southern California coast. The slick and defiant surf rock duo has quickly earned themselves a following in the San Diego Music scene with their drugged-up Beach Boy melodies, sun-drenched Dr. Dog pop sensibilities and entrancing rhythms.

Their debut album, Portugal, produced by Jordan Andreen (Lukas Nelson, Karl Denson, The Damned), is a modern surf rock record that blends the genres of jazz, sixties rock, and soul. Zach Polletta’s guitar work spills its way through Duane Eddy twangy reverb, Wes Montgomery jazz voicings, and Santana solos, while Sean Nowland’s drumming parades around Art Blakey furies and Ron Wilson back beats. Polletta’s lyrical content tackles mental issues, romantic struggles and solace with depth and poetry. His uncanny voice delivers a confident vulnerability that is both intriguing and relatable while remaining honest and not self indulgent.

Available on 12” aqua or black vinyl.

Only 150 copies are available in Black! Beautiful 1st pressing by Pirates Press.
