Sounds from the Shadow Factory is a collaboration of music and poetry that accompanies Lekas’ debut poetry collection, Saturday Night Sage. Teaming up with bands like Howlin’ Rain, Mrs. Henry and fellow artists Chad Lee, Ben Ambrosini, Hafsa Fatima, and Garcia Peoples’ Pat Gubler, the EP transforms five poems into spoken word recordings.

The first single Saturday Night Sage feat. Howlin’ Rain immediately earned the attention of new fans like legendary rock critic David Fricke who featured the track on his SiriusXM show the Writer’s Block.

Each track was also transformed into a short film in collaboration with several directors. Most notably, Out of the Storm Drains, directed by Scott D. Rosenbaum, debuted in Please Kill Me as Video of the Week, and won a Silver Medal in New York’s Bowery Awards. We Got a Problem with Groundwater was animated and transformed into a short film by Shelby Baldock. The short played the LA Short Films Festival, Memphis Film Festival and Miami Animated Film Festival receiving praise as “A beautiful fire of a film” and a “Dark, necessary journey.” Baldock’s film also won a Gold Medal from the Bowery Award and premiered online with the Atticus Review.

Sounds from the Shadow Factory successfully brings Lekas’ Saturday Night Sage from the page to the record player and the screen in a multi-media exploration of modern poetics. Released on limited edition 10” vinyl and CD, the EP features original cover art by artist Alan Forbes.
