Drug Hunt
Drug Hunt is more than a band, they are a bizarre-o quintet of natural seditionists. While often categorized as Neo-Psychedelic – more accurately the band is bastardizing Psychedelia with the orphaned idealism of American Post-Punk and early British Hard Rock. Their debut Self-Titled EP captures an array of genre-bending hallucinations in four searing songs that burn like napalm in the echoes of a sixties resurgence. Imagine a Doors album produced by Steve Albini, written by Nick Cave, and fronted by The Stooges at a biker bar.
With the release of Drug Hunt in July, Drug Hunt is quickly earning a fierce reputation for their prolific output and incendiary live performances, gaining press and international accolades as well as being named one of NBC’s “Top 9 Bands to See Live in San Diego.”
In Southern California, a new wave of Rock & Rollers are changing the very definition of the California sound. Favoring Sabbath to Santana, and Aphrodite's Child to the Mama’s and Papa’s, this new era of SoCal psychedelia is more desert speed trip than cosmic love in, and at the helm of the pack is Drug Hunt, howling ravenously under the delirium of a full moon.
